Throughout the market season we need help with the organization and operations of the Chester Sunday Market. If you’re interested in working with us, let us know. We’d love to hear from you, info@chestersundaymarket.com.

What jobs are there to do?: Listed below are numerous ways you can join in with the farmers’ market. And, if you have an even better idea, let us know. We’re always open to new ideas, and more involvement!

I don’t want to commit for the whole summer!: You can sign up for as much or as
little time as you’d like. Maybe just one day. Maybe just one month. Maybe just one event. Or . . . the whole season. Design your market involvement however works best for you and your interests. We have a volunteer calendar for sign-ups, so pick your day(s) before they
fill up.  Read below to get started . . .

General Market Day Tasks:

Morning (9:00–10:00 am)

> Assist in finding/moving cars left parked in market spaces
> Set-up signs
> Set-up cones
> Set-up Chester market tents and booths
> Help vendors unload their trucks
> Set-up tables, umbrellas and chairs for visitors

During the Market (10:00 am – 1:00 pm)

• Chester Market Booth
> Sell Smoothie re-usable cups
> Answer questions
> Make smoothies
> Sign up new volunteers
> Solicit market-goer signatures for our email list
• Hand out postcards to visitors during the market
• Traffic and people control (walk around the market and
   watch visitors, children and dogs to be sure everyone is
   aware of things around them)
• Monitor bike traffic ensuring all bikes are walked
   through market

Afternoon (1:00–1:45 pm)

• Take down the market
> Collect signs
> Collect cones
> Collect street barricades
> Break down market tent and booth
> Put tables, umbrellas and chairs away
> Remove trash or debris
